Silhouettes 4/29/11

1. Silhouettes photos stand out because they convey drama, mystery, emotion, and mood to viewers.

2. The strategy of taking a silhouette is to place your subject in complete blackness in front of a light source  and force your camera to set its exposure upon the brightest part of the picture.

3. To get your lighting right you have to imply more light to the background than the foreground. In other words light the back of your subject.

4. From a sunset or a sunrise

5. The background of a silhouette should be separate of the subject.
